tales from the heartlands

Tough times as usual in the land of the free and the brave. With my remaining ounces of energy, as a new day approaches- with a little more laughter, a little more despondence, something a little darker, perhaps a little flash of light too (if our luck holds up)- I can only offer these documents, testimonies- narratives of Events Ongoing (if you will). Appropriately, from two distant tips of this great land, two heartlands the body wishes to stake claim to when chaos seems a brighter side of unhappiness. Does any of this even make sense? Or have we entered that era of our existence where, as Michael Stipe said, “shit’s so thick you can stir it with a stick”?

This. And this.
